As a social worker, I will prioritize an effective, cohesive social service network in the city. We are a small city with many providers and volunteers addressing homelessness, food insecurity, family, behavioral health issues, and more. I want to strengthen our systems and build a stronger fabric of compassion, empathy, learning, and assistance.

I believe that scholastic achievement, strong emotional health, and community participation are key elements for our youth to lead us into the future. Youth development is a critical component to the growth and health of a city.

Past and current accomplishments:

• Staff support to Alameda Collaborative for Children, Youth and their Families (ACCYF) and established the first ACCYF Youth Advocacy Board in 2023 by working with community partners to recruit youth applicants, interview candidates, and select a youth team.
• Led the opening of Queer Teen Alameda Center (QTAC) in partnership with ACCFY, Alameda Pride, Alameda Unified School District, and Alameda Recreation and Parks Department.
• Coordinated City of Alameda’s summer internship program with multiple departments.
• Served as the city staff liaison for the annual Youth Career Fair in collaboration with Supervisors Dave Brown and Lena Tam, Alameda Chamber, Alameda Unified School District, and youth opportunity partners.
• As executive director of Friends of the Alameda Free Library, awarded a 2026 Cultural Arts and Arts Programming grant for Youth Show Up, an event scheduled for March 20, 2027 inside the Main Library in partnership with Alameda Education Foundation.

I support infrastructure improvements to keep our island city safe and healthy for our residents into the future. Preparing for a potential disaster and improving the condition of existing infrastructure on the island are priorities that will bring, retain, and serve more residents.

I will work with invested partners to:

• Identify funds to bring the Carnegie and adjacent properties back to community use.
• Support Alameda Point development and specifically advocate for the funding and development of the Veteran’s Hospital.
• Represent Alameda residents regarding the State mandated Housing Element plan in coordination with Alameda Housing Authority and the community.
• Collaborate with the Port of Oakland Turnabout Project.
• Support Sea level rise mitigation and pass Measure L.
